A brief look at the studio of Ultra Violet. Muse and pupil of Salvador Dali, and friend to Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein and other artists of the New York School. After Dali introduced her to Warhol in 1963 she became one of the legendary silver Factory’s superstars. She appears in several films, including Woody Allen’s Night Train.
'Quickly integrated into pop and surrealist artists' social scene upon her immigration into the US from France, Ultra Violet is known not just for her work, but also her personality which influenced many fellow artists—perhaps most notably Andy Warhol. Her art reflects a contemporary aesthetic; utilizing neon lights, computers and mirrors. We learned about some of her latest work and how she believes art should be spiritual and uplifting.'
